Laurent Perrier Garden

Chelsea Flower Show 2014, London

We were delighted to be asked by Luciano Giubbilei to get involved with the Laurent Perrier garden at the 2014 Chelsea Flower Show in London. The garden won Best in Show, as well as a Gold medal.

We supplied two large concrete walls for the Laurent Perrier garden. The first provides the backdrop to a patinated sculptural metal panels, the second provides a contrasting background to a sculpture by Ursula von Rydingsvard. e second wall includes a patinated metal edge detail which makes artistic reference to works by Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978).

The concrete walls were designed to work at a number of levels; at a distance the large 6.6m wall provide a neutral backdrop to the patinated metal panels, however when viewed close up the surface is organic and feels natural.

The surfaces were designed to include random irregularities & imperfections whilst engineered to remain structural. The fixing system includes cast-in channels to allow the 700kg precast panels to be easily assembled with the steel supporting frame.
